New Dreambox DM520: Cheap and powerful machine already in August

Is a new multimedia DM520 apparatus under the Dreambox, which appear on the market during August. The device is designed for the reception of satellite or cable and terrestrial broadcast.

After a long time on the market, the manufacturer shall indicate the Dreamboxů news. It is a compact device, the variable and mainly: cheap.

Dreambox DM520 is designed for the reception of programmes in high definition (HDTV). The receiver will also support video standard (H) 265 (HEVC), which is used by our Western neighbors for a second generation digital terrestrial broadcasting.

Fast switching programs and move around in the menu will ensure a new generation of chipsets, Broadcom (BCM 73625) with a clock frequency of 2x750 MHz. Device will be fitted with RAM and flash memory with 512 MB. According to the information the Dream Property will be the new product also support standard SAT-IP.

The connection of the new Dreamboxu to the Internet it will be possible via the Ethernet interface or via WiFi. In addition, DM520 is equipped with 2 USB ports and one mini USB for service purposes. On the front panel is a touch button to turn on and turn off the receiver and also there is a access card reader.

Dreambox DM520 will be on the market by August, and the recommended retail price is 139 eur (approx. 3800.0). More news plans to manufacturer for the second half of the year 2016.

Now that is something i would consider buying if it is going to be running Enigma 2 :D

Major problem with small boxes is the heat dissipation.
I had the first Dreambox on the market DM7000S which was good innovation at the time.
Recently I discovered the VU+ and I think I am going to stick to it over the next few years.

I agree with you on the heat part, but thats why i stick a laptop cooler under it. Never had any issues with any of my small DMM boxes when its being cooled :D

What is a laptop cooler?
Sounds a lot more expensive that a small 5V USB ventilator which costs 5 euro
