Presumably because I'm using a SF8008 with a SiLabs Si2166D tuner 11490 V and 11496 H won't work regardless?

Sf8008 doesn't support pls gold, you need to convert gold to root and add manually to the transponder before scanning.

Transponder 11496 H is no longer active.

@Jose67 thank you for your response, from this I gather I can try and search for 11490 V using the SF8008.
Can you advise on your reception levels for 11330H and 11490V?
Thank you.

Unfortunately the attached manual scan produces no results, is this correct?
I feel I may not have enough signal from the LNB?

Could you please advice how to convert Gold to Root and vice versa? Thanks.

I’ve never managed to lock 11491V here in Gloucestershire on my 80cm dish, ROOT or GOLD or otherwise. I think the signal is just that little bit too weak and needs a bigger dish unfortunately.

When it was still active, 11496H fluctuated more and was sometimes quite easy to lock. The receivers that had the issue with the stream would lock it and show a signal level, but then still glitch due to the bug.

Yes, 11491V is among the weakest transponders after switching from 30W-4 to 30W-6. In addition, almost 11dB is required for LOCK.

I use a Uclan Ustym 4Kpro which also has a Silabs Si2166D and it works perfectly.
@Jose67 "Sf8008 doesn't support pls gold"
the Uclan, which is the twin brother of the SF8008, accepts PLS Gold without any problem

11330H : strength 78% / Quality 65%
11490V : No lock no signal.
I would need a dish I believe at least 1m

80cm is really too small for this modulation probably even in the heart of Spain, it needs 10.6 db to lock.

Both transponders work wonderfully and with no issues. All they need is sufficient signal.

In October i watch Fiestas del Pilar Zaragoza on 11330H, and at that time of year the sun passes Hispasat @30w at 14:45 to 15:00 hrs and I lose the transponder signal for the 15 minutes everyday on the dot.

@EnoSat I used your code to update my satellites.xml
<transponder frequency="11491000" symbol_rate="7523000" polarization="1" fec_inner="6" system="1" modulation="2" is_id="0" pls_mode="0" pls_code="133460"/>

I had to change pls_mode="0" to pls_mode="1" only after I was able to scan the channels late last night on this frequency (11491V) but the signal was so low there was no picture. I was lucky to scan the channel names and don't have any image or reception at all at this moment.
This result is after many days of feeling puzzled so thank you.
I can confirm that an 80cm won't be large enough, I may purchase a 'better' LNB but this may be a waste of time.

I don't know if all e2 do it, but OpenViX in MIO+ only displays GOLD, although there is also ROOT in the XML, which automatically converts to GOLD.

Interesting reports for the 11491V transponder, it makes even more sense when you look at the 30W-6 footprint map, the signal is a couple of dBW stronger in most of France as well as Spain. There's a slight null of the signal over south west England up to the NE coast which combined with the modulation being used makes it tricky on smaller dishes here. In theory it should be a bit easier to lock in northern England, central Scotland and most of Ireland.
