I have a Thomson HD box and trying to add the 12441 V frequency channel. It is the bbc i streams. I go to Services->System setup=>Add channels-> I fill in the frequency, polarization, fec and s/r and then I get the message No channels found.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Are they on the 2B south transponder though?

Can you try your friends receiver on your dish? That will confirm if you are getting the transponder or not. Dish looks big enough from the footprint, but obviously I have no first hand experience.

You mean the red button?

To get the red button on screen you have to tune in to BBC channels, right?
But BBC is not receivable here. Only BBC news. I pressed the red button, but bbc news had only news index...

The button could be any colour, I would not know, as I never use my Sky box, perhaps you need to get a cheap FTA receiver to solve the problem. Have you checked all the menus?, it might be avaialble through one of those.

Could you recommend a cheap one that could do the job?

It doesn't matter, whatever's available cheap in your area. Any Digital FTA satellite receiver will do it.

I have been reading that there is a difference between a Freeview receiver and an FtA receiver. And that not all FtA's can do this job while all FV can...

The terminology is confusing, but a Freeview receiver most definitely will NOT work, it is for our terrestrial telly through an aerial. Obviously from Greece, those transmissions are not receivable.

A FTA digital satellite receiver will work for the FTA BBC Streams that you require.

Dear Robbo, thank you for helping me out. I really appreciate it.
I made one discovery... By pressing the red button while watching bbc news I get some streams. Then I navigate go to some other streams.

I would like to ask are the streams from BBC news different than the ones from BBC regular channels?

I think so judging by the info on Lyngsat, I have no need for them myself so I don't know.
