Help Required No signal on 12382H Astra 2E 28.2 (Food Network, Quest)?

Have the programs moved to another transponder? Or have the transponder specifications changed? I can not get a signal any more. All the other transponders are OK.

Many of the 28E transponders are still DVB-S. (Although the number has been decreasing slowly as Sky have finally started to swap theirs to DVB-S2 & the BBC et al have switched off their Standard Def frequencies in recent months).

Well dvb-s2 came in use arround 2005 - 2007, 19 years ago.

Signal is not weaker - in fact the required reception conditions between the old and new transmission formats are almost identical (just a 0.1db difference in minimum signal to noise ratio).
Picture quality will depend on bitrate & compression codec in use (currently MPEG2, so unchanged from before) - some services have already moved to using MPEG4.

@Spc.. DVB-S transponders were still in use to support older Sky UK & Ireland Digital receivers that were issued or "sold" between 1998 to around 2007-8 that were DVB-S capable only, however support for these receivers are now being phased out.

still,it seems the old system was better than this newer one.... so,what s the point?
76% before,25-30% now....
should we buy a new receiver ,more sensitive to 8psk?
so ,like with DAB,the aim is to sell new receivers? I d like to know....
