Hey people

Right now I have absolutely no current to power the LNB from a Creatix hybrid SA7131 duel DVB-S card.

Which is wired as followed

Uni single LNB -> Coax -> DVB-S card.

It just doesn't seem to be outputting any kind of current (Tested with multimeter at either end and getting nothing) - cant even power a sat-meter so I can tune the dish.

Any ideas where I am going wrong?

You should be measuring the voltage at the LNB end of the cable, not the current.

Make sure that the settings for the LNB in the tuner are set to universal and the LNB power is ON.

Voltage is a dead zero.
LNB is set to universal and I have no setting for LNB power in Mediacenter.

Is there a "LNB Power" option in DVB Dream?

I have no reason to expect the TV card to be faulty as it has 2xDVB-S, 2xDVB-T and 2xTerrestrial.

The DVB-T is still working fine... Just cant get the DVB-S receivers to output any volts :(.

No LNB power on facility in DVB Dream when using Universal mode.

I was going to ask about what LNB inputs you have, maybe a loopthrough facility of some kind, but I see you edited your post to include particulars.

Does the card come with its own DVB application, and if so is there anything in that in which you have to set the LNB power on? (just to confirm that it does power up the LN:cool:.

Card is an OEM Phillips sourced chipset that shipped with powercinema and that as far as I am aware has no particulate LNB power options. ~ so no special software for the card unfortunately.

Unfortunately my power cinema version is for XP and the computer is now on Vista and wont run that power cinema version.

The PCI card itself does list the a "12V LNB" on the spec sticker :) - but I still get no power on the meter even when using Mediacenter (with upgrades for DVB-S) or when scanning for transponders on DVB Dream|Mediacenter | Mediaportal....

Something must initialize the voltage on the line that I am just missing... As I know others have had success with this card. (Multimeter still reads 0v directly at cards inputs)

- I'm downloading a newer vista compatible version of power cinema now :)

Might sound like a stupid question, but is your cable run too long ?? Voltage drop might be the problem.

The OP tested it at the card end, so that won't be the problem.

Does your card supports satellite internet?
in such case, a special software should be bundled, which will fire up lnb power.

I am not sure if it does.

It does have a input for a phone line though...?

The card came with no special software. Guaranteed.

My Twinhan PCI card had same problem. Went to Radio Shack and got replacement adjustable voltage regulator. Added a heat sink and it has not failed since.

I can provide images of the card if that would help in anyway.
