Has anyone managed to get any of the Thai C band transponders on this satellite? My LOS beyond 50e is iffy, though I can receive about half of C band channels on 53e despite the neighbour's tree blocking some of the dish.

My 1.8M has been out of action for the summer because we've had one our Echiums grow right in front of it. I'll be chopping it down in the next week or so so I'll check once I have a clear path.

Out of view for me, the furthest I can get is 47.5W and that is very restricted visibility. I am sure John will be able to sort this one out or Nelson, they are the big dish men.

Hi guys,

just my spectrum from NSS-5 @50.5°E (1.3° incl. during scan). Nothing lockable.

Beacon 3948 R and carrier 4062 R (was a GS stream some months earlier).

Well...... I can forget it on my piddly little dish then!

BTW, anything from 51.5E? Seems Africa centred but with some spillover into Europe.

It seems us small dish men are left wanting compared to the signals that the big dish men can drag in

... Not much to report re: NSS-5, i can see the 3950 V beacon easily and also the data freq at 4062 R but there is nothing else at the moment. I'll wait until it's got to it's max neg declination so as to loose the sats that are close either side and see if that helps a bit.
