Hi there,

I am new to this and am desperate for advice. Can anyone tell me hte best way to receive/ improve my reception for NTV+in Northern Ireland? I have a HD box with the subscription paid for legally, but I don't know how to set it up. Which is the best satellite to point at? Hotbird or Eurobird? The signal is apparentyl poor at times so can I correct that using a bigger dish? Any help greatly appreciated.

Is this the package you are talking about?:-

Hotbird is pretty strong, the footprint suggests a 50-80cm dish depending on your precise location.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, that seems to be it. I picked up a subscription for my wife the last time I was over in Warsaw.

I live in Strabane, it's about the left centre of Northern Ireland. I know a couple of people who tried to get it, but said the signal was weak. I think they were just using the sky dishes or similar (80 cm). Will I be ok if I use a larger dish? I also have Freesat HD,is it possible to pick both up form one dish? (Iknow that it's on Astra).

Thanks again for your help.

Steve.

Obviously, without going to NI and trying it for myself, I couldn't say for sure. But the footprint suggests that an 80cm would do it.

Yes, you can set up an offset LNB for 28E, and have two LNBs on the same dish. The LNB for 13E would be at the dish focus.

PS, I didn;t think Sky minidishes were 80cm, not even the larger ones.
