Firstly you have to remeber HD stb's have not been for sale for that long and the odds of a hobbyist having enough money to buy and compare two HD stb's are minimal, you may have to wait sometime for an answer from an installer also in a fringe reception area. I think the odds just dropped again

Hello Johan!
the ocatagon is much cheaper then the clark tech,i dont have tested yet this modells,but on the ocatagon i can say,that it posible to select the tuner sensitvity by remote controll,i read on the net,what that exactly means i canot tell you at the moment!

when you need a sensitive hd tuner,with hd,buy the ferguson Hd!

++/www.terem.de/Ferguson-HF-8800-HDTV/
it is the same then the homecast hd 5101 ci but with build in multicrypt cam!
menu handling is not the best of all,but the tuner senstivy is very good!

also where you can take a eye is the new edison argus HD!

I think the Octagon HD is not "much cheaper" than the CT 5000.

Both have a sensitive tuner and it really depends on what you want to receive, where & with what equipment.
