HI!

Has any of you guys compared different LNB:s on your offset dishes?
I started with the Interstar GI-201 0.3 dB and then changed to MTI AP8-T2.
Got better signal on low frequency transponders on the Astra 2d but lost some higher frequency ones on for example Nilesat.
Has any of you compared the AP8-T2 with the new MTI "blue-line" or any other
LNB:s?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I thought the AP8 was a quad LNB but then again its been a few years

Looking through the other posts here, you will find many references given by posters on the merits of one LNB against another. Some actually come fromt he areas with poor reception (Im lucky to live in the UK)

I did compare the MTI AP8-T2 with the Invacom SNH-031 where the MTI had a slightly better performance. The blue line is allegedly better over the whole frequency band but not in the low frequencies. The AP8-T2 gives a better result in the low frequencies where 2D is situated. The only contender to a better performance for getting 2D is the Invacom 0.3dB Quad. I haven't tried that personally and there seems to be different opinions about this point.

The Invacom series 0.3 db is from my experince a good all rounder - not the best but good and quite consistant though out its operating range, I have a dual output incidentally.

Most noise occurs higher in the frequency range from around 12.2 Ghz this is normal however as with many LNB.

The higher the frequency the greater is the difficulity, within keeping the noise low while the gain high.

i was in greece last summer i bought the invacom 0.3db, what was weird is on the same satellite there were some transponders i could not get it was on the border line picture would breakup or not get at all so like you guys were saying about the frequency thing on certain ranges it was finicky everyone is saying the best for sky digital is the mti blue line series ap8, i am going to buy one of those and try it again (never mind 2d) but if i get the other transponders i couldn't get i will be VERY happy with 1.2m dish. but that marginal quality makes a whole difference i hate to have to upgrade the dish just for those channels but i can live without 2d.
