As a matter of interest, are there many members who play online games?

I've played Age of Empires a couple of years ago, but was put off a little by some of the antics of the other players (I think most of them were probaly pre-pubescent)

I've played Cossacks IP to IP with a mate of mine and thought it really added to the experience, but its not often that both of us are available at the same time.

So what do other members play?

I have all the 'Unreal' stuff on my PC but don't play online. I am informed by others, though, plenty do.

Yes, I'm going to give that a try next weekend at my mate's house, I used to like Doom and some of the Quake scenarios.

That reminds me of the days I spent playing Wolfenstein 3D, that was a game programmed with feeling, actually the first shoot 'em up game ever.

Hmm, that takes me back as well. :) That, I believe was the engine they used for Doom, wasn't it?

They developed it to be able to hadle a Z-axis, then they built doom on the engine.

Then my gaming began somewhat earlier with the arcade games of 1984/5.

Asteroids was probably the most played, but there was one with an alien landscape, you were looking out through a periscope, and you shot futeristic tanks and other craft in front of you.

Then my favourite was somethng called Gravtar, really realistic gravity landing scenarios, and a trip through space to four or five palnetoids to pick up fuel

Now I seem to find few games of enjoyment (theres always something to take apart and repair at home), but PC games I have kept are Descent, Incoming, Airfix Dogfighter, Janes Fighter Squadron, and my favourite, Edge of Chaos, which Ive been told has the ability to be played on-line.

I think my first real forays into computer gaming was with Hitchikers guide (text only) Flight simulator and a space game called Elite and all on my Amstrad 1512, god I thought it was the dog's. :)
