ParsTV on TELSTAR 12. 15 deg. west. please help!

Hi...
Pars TV has just started (lyngsat.com) on telstar 12, 12.618V sr 1952, fec 3/4, and I get good rececption of the other Iranian channel on this satellite, NITV, but when entering the signal into my reciever, i get no lock on, I have a 1m dish, which i know is ample for this satellite at my location..anyone wanna give it a try and let me know if u get anything? / any advice?

Just tryed it with no luck. Then remembered my manhattan reciver can't do symbol rates below 2000. Does your reciever go that low, worth checking.

MY reciever is a Strong spin off branded as provision, I realised the same, it only goes 2000-30000, althought since pars tv is a channel inteded for home reception from iranian viewers(same as NITV) it seems stupid of them to put it at such a low symbol rate,,, are there any techie reasons for this? I mean im pretty sure most reciveres dont go much lower than 2000-30000 and deifnitely not the ones people in iran would have..

it would surprise me if this (low symbol rate) were really the problem. First, the amount by which it is lower than your machine's threshold is tiny (48 megasymbols) - well within the usual range either side of the "actual" SR value that will normally not be noticed by a receiver, and second because even where a receiver supposedly goes no lower than a particular value, in practise it does (by a couple of hundred megasymbols usually).

I suspect something else is wrong. Perhaps they simply haven't started broadcasting yet. Or perhaps you have to manually enter the PIDs.

Don't know if you found this channel yet, But its at 12.612V 5700 15W, also carries Iran Tv and 2 empty channels.
