picking up another satellite

I'm in SE London, I have a 60com dish pointing 28e picking up sky, my box is a simple thompson digi box.

Is it possible for me to move the dish to point at the hotbird 13e satellitle? A friend of mine said that on the equipment and because I have a digi box and not a receiver I can't.

any help would be appreciated.

You can move your dish and pick up hotbird, you will need to add channels manually in the other channels settings. If you can afford it I would recommend that you by a cheap FTA digital satellite receiver, this way you will get more channels and be able to zap much more easily.

The digibox is a receiver, but a somewhat limited one for anything other than its designated purpose. There is another thread concerning a similar requirement, you can move your dish and you will be able to pick up some channels, but the digibox is not the ideal tool for it.
