Hi guys I need your help please. (my first post)
hello to all of you guys . i used to be an old member back in the time of the old d2Mac

My issue is this

I moved to a block of 6 flats and i am having a problem with sat settings in my own

I have a faceplate with 2 sat connections and an Ariel
Sat1= sky+
Sat2= Hot bird +PLUS SKY+
We are told we can have sky+ plus Hotbird sat or sky+ and sky Hd but not SKY Hd and Hotbird

I have been a sat enthusiast since the old Analogue D2 mac etc.. And have no problem installing any disk but IRS is new to me. So I did a research and found
On the roof there are 2 dishes connected to a Quattro LNB which is connected to a Multi switch 9/5
V/low
V/High
H/low
H/high
Plus Ariel
Now on my Technomate TM-500 If I connect the cable to any outlet I can immediately receive Sky( i understand by that that sky is connected to input one (right ?? no??) in the swich

I have tried all LNB setting and can not receive all channels on hotbird. Sky is always fine
Now if I set 2 satelliteson the menu like these 2 examples
Expel:1 i get all low frequencies channels if
Sky connected to LNB 0 hi/lo volt= v/h
Hotbird connected to LNB1 22khz off volt=v/h
I do not get any high frequencies channels

Expel 2-
Same as above but with hotbird 22khz is on . i lose all low frequency channels
For those who have TM-500 would know that if i were to click on LNB i get 2 menus:
1 –tone either none or A or B
Disecq none or 1.0,1.1 or 1.2
If i choose 1.2 there are committed and uncommitted... (new to me )

I have tried all combinations and in nutshell i can either get low frequencies or high frequencies on sat1 ie Hotbird whe n playing with 22khz on or off
Any idea how I can over come this?
The installers were useless. One simply said that their system support Disecq 2 and i should set my Lnb as high as possible

Many thanks

You shouldn't mess about with the LNB settings, the only thing to change is the DiSEqC switching, Port B in DiSEqC 1.0 should do it, most switches are backward compatible

Hi thanks for the reply. I have done so but can only watch either high frequency channels or low frequency channels unless i go again into the menu and change the 22khz on or off. my problem is how can i have both working

You need to ensure that the Hotbird LNB is set as Universal (or Universal 1 or Universal 9750/10600, depending on what the Technomate calls it). With Universal selected, all the other guff is taken care of and you should find things like 22KHz etc are greyed out so you can't muck it up!

(Subject to also allocating the correct DiSEqC Port, as Rolf mentioned).

The 22kHz gets turned on or off automatically depending on what frequency you tune into, with the LNB type set to universal.

HI guys
All of you are right in a conventional set up. but this IRS is different.(idealy a user should be able to see one universal LN:cool: but it does not.
What I did so far is to start all over by letting Technomate do the set it automatic for me . so i select simple set up with no DisECq(one satelite)
I get all channels again about 560 on hotbird but no high band. upon checking the menu to see what set up is. i find
1-Sat/Position HOTBIRD
2-LNB 0-
------------> sub menu-------------->LOF/L: 09750.....LOF/H: 10600.....Threshold: 11700
------------>(next page)------- Toneburst: B--------DiSeqC Mode: none
3-22Khz HI/Lo
4-Voltage H/V

if i change 22Khz to on and I do a scan again i get all high band channels total channels 961 and not 640
SO I am back to Square one.

Check with other tenants that all is working OK. As you know, without setting DiSEqC 1.0 configuration, the receiver will default to 28e. To receive Hotbird, (input 2/B on the multiswitch), you'll need to configure DiSEqC 1.o commands - nothing else. The 22Khz tone should remain ON. Not used a TM500 so are unable to familiarise myself with the setup menu, although should be pretty straight forward.
