Advice Needed Pre-sales Questions on Dreambox Ultra DM920 : Multiple country settings on DVB-T and DVB-S

Hi,

I saw that the Ultra DM920 can come with DVB-S and DVB-T receivers.

Did anybody use this in a Belgian FTA DVB-T channels + disqeq set-up (13e 19.2e 5w 28.2e)?

Can the region/country be set separately for the DVB-T and DVB-S decoders? e.g Germany for DVB-S and Belgium for DVB-T?

Question 2
The majority of the channels I watch are in SD. How good are SD channels on this box?

Question 3
Can HD channels be set per channel for 720p or 1080p?

Question 4
Does it do multistream for the French 5w channels, or do the FranSat cards work with the new CAM update?

An alternative is the Dreambox Ultra Two, and just leave the DVB-T up to the TV set.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What a lovely setup.

Can you get the DVB-T get the FTA RTBF channels? Did you need to set a country/region to BE to do this?

Has it got a CI slot in it?

You only need the correct frequency on which the RTBF transmits. I don't know about the frequency in your area but it will not be a problem. Remember that in a couple of months the frequency will be channel 42 for all the regions in Wallonia

I'm in Brussels. Probably be the same. ( oh wait probably not :-) :-) ) The problem I had with DVB-T was that RTBF only showed up when the region was set to Belgium. Hence my caution. Have you got this working?

I've got 5w on a Wavefrontier T55. Not sure if it'll work for multistream. We shall see.

I have one DM920 receiver which does not start. In the shop, they also did not manage to get it to work. So, if somebody wants to try, the price is 20 EUR plus shipping. If not, it will go into the bin.

It has worked about 2 weeks ago without any problems. Then, in the shop, they said that probably some chip is broken inside. So, I have no interest in the future of it.

You just need the correct satellites.xml and terrestrial.xml,
as for multistream at 5W - 5W channels - missing FTA channels

If the region is set to another country it could be that the frequency used by the RTBF in brussels wasn't scanned (channel 56 in Brussels). The region selection only scans the frequencies that are officialy used for DVB-T in that region. It has no other purpose then to make scanning channels faster and easier. You won't have the problem when you select the frequency yourself or do a whole band scan.

If you have troubles with your installation. I can offer you some help. I live near Malines so I am not that far away from Brussels if you need a hand in setting up your enigma2 receiver or pointing your dish or DVB-T antenna.

When I google 'dm 920 repair' several hits are given.
For instance something like Fix DreamBox DM920 UltraHD Rescue Mode Waiting for DHCP and Setup Everything From Default - Linux Satellite Support Community
Might be worth to give it a try, for someone.... (with or without the help of some forum...)

Forgot to tell.... I do not have DM920 anymore. It went down to the NL. That will be @a33 problem how to deal with DM
