My Satellite Setup
Sky back in the UK.
Nada in Hooland....Yet

Holland
Moved to Holland not to long ago and have always been planning to get some sort of satellite.

At first I thouht I would continue with sky (better the devil you know) but seeing that there seems to be alternatives which offer more sporting games and programmes. Also due to having sky at my current UK address, Sky are refusing to send a second hand contract card there which means I have to have it posted to an address which is not my home. Not ideal but do-able.

With the Premiership fast approaching its time to make a choice but I'm still unable to get enough specific info to differentiate between subscribers.

All I want is atleast the same number of football games and nfl games as sky. Hopefully in English and straight forward to set up. UK Freeview channels would be good too.

Showtime seemed a good alternative but 1000 for the package seemed a little much considering I dont exactly not what I'll be getting.

Prem starts in two weeks - Any info will be appreciated

Thanks for the reply.

I've taken a look at this but it doesnt say what satellite packages carry what channels or what channels have english commentary, etc

For example I know TRL in the Netherlands shows F1 racing and that I can recieve Eurosport. Only problem is they are in Dutch. I'm trying not to purchase something I am really going to dislike afterwards because its different to what I thought.

I know with Sky I get a variety of prem games, nfl games, boxing, etc.

I'm wondering what is the best way of replicating my sport viewing habits in the UK in Holland.

I dont live in Amsterdam but I know a lot of the pubs and bars there have coverage of a lot of the sports. What do they use?

I aksed at Sports Cafe but the staff dint know

Pubs and bars in Amsterdam use local provider UPC.

Sports preminum (6 channels) is Sport1
10 €/month. extra
