Hi all
I'm trying to pick up the Premiere German film channels... I'm on Astra 19e. I have tuned and can see the FTA channels such as the "Portal". I know I need to manual input Nagra keys to see the encrypted channels, and I can get them from Florikey, but no joy!
I'm using a Fortec Star Platinum with the last firmware available from early this year.
Am I missing something? I'm located South Italy, using provider id 0501. Should I try another provider id?
Note, prior to D+ changing to Nagra3 earlier this year I regularly inputted manual Nagra2 keys, so the manual input method is not the problem, I know how to do it with this Fortec box.
Do I need a patch?
Any suggestions helpful. I don't think this is a decryption issue, I'm just not sure about this provider.
Thanks guys.

There is a new patch, published in the usual place, its an auto update emu so i don,t know how it works with your set up, patch is backed up with softcam/keys.

Thanks Dave....do you mean the software site for my Fortec? Al*bar?
Last time I checked I was up to date software wise except for the last *ps AU which caused the boxes to crash!
Do you know of another which will run on my box?
Cheers K.

As far as I can make out, the support for that receiver has died, unless anyone knows where to get it, as the stuff on al7bar is way out of date, and I would be surprised if it still opens anything.

Try a Diablo, or a new receiver.

Yep, that's what I figured. As to a new box, I see masses of patches/emu etc for Dreambox. I might go that way if I see a reasonable deal.
Thanks Robbo71.

Incidentally, the box I have has been very good at decrypting stuff so far, it's a shame the software support is no longer there. Technically it's still very capable...T*S AU causes crashes, but up to the change to Nagra3 I was still able to watch Nagra 2 taquilla etc by key inputs once or twice daily and still can get Polsat. Also there's 2 CI slots if I choose to go that route.
Shame on Fortec Star for dropping software support on a 3 year old box!
Any other info on clearing Premiere would be most appreciated, though, even a generic or adaptable patch...
Thanks, K.

The Technomates are pretty well supported at the moment, and the Dreamboxes of course, if you like a little bit of a challenge.

Which would you recommend Robbo? I don't need a hard drive, just a well supported stable (cheapish, I'm Scottish) box.

Stay away from Fortec Stars if you want to play with patches - the hobby support rarely lasts more than a year or so.

Cheap receivers - the Lidl stuff is ok if basic, and the Technomates are great little receivers.

The ulimate receivers are the Dreambox and other Linux receivers. Infinitely customisable, & superb hobby support

Well, I manage quite happily on a TM1000D super at the moment, so if you want something really cheap with good support then one of those wouldn't be too bad. Obviously the TM1500CI+ are a bit better, with the CAM and card slots. Both those models have been effectively replaced by the TM5200 and 5400CI+ respectively, equally well supported, but with USB and twice the channel capacity.

I will eventually get a Dreambox 7020 or the equivalent at a later date, but I have no need right now.

and Milkybar kid is right of course, Polsat is on 13E.:-googly

Thanks guys, I'll start having a look round...on the Premiere subject, do they screen English audio movies often? That of course is the main reason why I want to look at it. I'm well out of range down here of the Brit regional providers from 28 east.

Yes, virtually all the time, some are just in German, but there are usually some that have English audio as well.

For English language moviers Premiere is pretty good, but Tequilla is similar. At the moment Premiere is open, but that could change soon - so make sure to get a receiver which will work with a legal subscription card as well.
