Hiya,

A friend gave me a gold card that he wanted me to read for him, however I put the card in my Elvis and tried to read it in Multiprog, but a message came up:

"Pic code protected, operation aborted!"

Is there any way to read the card?

So long since I played with goldies, I seem to remember that there were ways around it, but what can be on a goldcard now which requires reading?

In Multiprog 'Code protect = on' is the default. Can you click it off?

Yes, but that only seems to apply to writing to cards; it won't let you read it by unclicking it.

No matter now, he got fed up of waiting, so I wiped the card and put Via1/2 software for him.
