Hello, I've just moved house and took my sky+ hd system with me.
I'm planning to put the dish up tomorrow and wanted to check something?

I assume I need to get a lock on Astra 2A at 28.2? (I have a signal meter so I can figure out the strength, as long as I'm looking at the right satellite).

Cheers
Ross

If you are in the UK almost any of the frequencies will do - they are all pretty strong

Yes I should have mentioned I'm in the UK. So any of the Astra's will be ok.

Thanks
Ross

Thanks for welcome! Got sky working today, strong signal.

Tomorrow I'm setting up my wife's polish channels, got separate larger dish and cyfrowy receiver for polsat channels.
I think I need to align the transponder to Hotbird.

You don't need a larger dish for Polsat.

The Hotbird signal is massive here in UK and a 40cm dish would do nicely.

But there's no harm in giving your wife a huge rain-margin!

Great well done, you could have used the bigger dish for both with a little bracket but I guess you had the stuff already, yes 13E m8.

Yeah I had the polish channels installed in the last place by a company that offered the polish setup after I had sky. So I have a spare 60cm dish. (I think the other sky mini dish is a Z1 45cm dish) However I'm keen to save some cash and setup myself this time.

I would have tried to get it setup today, but been a noob to this I over twisted the signal meter and broke the connection inside the pcb, so after some soldering I got it working again :)

Cheers will try hotbird tomorrow.

Quick update. Got polsat working, in seconds. Much easier to get a good signal lock on the larger dish.

Cheers

Nice going - great you are sorted.

Now your mind will start thinking - with an offset bracket I could have 19E, or maybe 9E :D
