Q-MAX , not humax, acting strange .

Hi. i have an older humax reviver that i kept since the days we used ti update
s/w to view paid channels .

we now i am on some newer but cheap reviver just watching Nile sat .

the humax reviver was fixed yesterday and i tried to search nile sat when it started
acting strange .

after factory reset i can see nile sat channels on nile sat 101 and hot bird
but each showing only few channels like i cant get most freq to work
for example i have no signal for 11938 v which is mbc and stuff
and also other things are missing

this receiver has lots of settings like rf output and scart , any ideas guys ?

Well if you had it fixed yesterday and it is not functioning to your satisfaction then take it back and get them to check it out and see if they can receive the channels you are missing from their setup, they may not have tested the unit properly after their repair. On the other hand there could be other factors influencing lack of reception of specific channels

Sounds to me like you need to allocate the channels to either disecq A or B depending on which they should be as from your brief description you appear to be viewing 2 sats with 2 stb's or dishes. If you are unsure how that works there are plenty of guides in the dish setup section

Well for sure you need to get an updated transponder list for 7ºW; lots of changes in the last three years.

well of all of the other replies i am a newbie in sat tech , reading wont help me much.
by changing the LNB to 9750 i manged to see 11938 but i lost 12034

i didnt mange to see all channels on a common LNb as i change it some goes and some
appear . i dunno about relocating channels but what i did is making 2 setting
one for the nile sat 101 7 w and one for hotbird 1-5 13.0e which is also showing
nile sat signal i dunno why is that .
am trying to combine both sats to get all the channels if there is an easier way plz
advise .

still the same . i cant seem to find all frequencies even by using both sats , maybe hardware
pro ,

s/w to fac firmware . is there any hidden buttons i can perhaps click in the reviver

I am sorry I have no idea about hidden buttons (which I doubt there are any) and have never seen a Qmax stb and nobody on here could know how it was setup before you had it fixed. I think you need to find out what lnb's and dishes are feeding the Qmax stb, do they go through a switch? Try taking some pictures of your dish lnb setup and posting on our server using manage attachments option when you post.

never mind guys , suddenly it started working again , then after i tuned up all channels
it started having problems with signal quality while my other cheap reviver was
getting 85% signal quality on that same cable .

took me 2 days of work for nothing i guess am sending this zombie back to its grave . !
