Advice Needed Receivers with the lowest Symbol Rate?

Thank you very much,Viperskin!
and so...i need a Linux receiver... and then download the crazyscan program. is that on the TBS6983 card? _______________________________ __________ Ok . What will I obtain in term of contents for the effort?
Or is it a kind of sport for itself?
Crazyscan also will require plugins ...such as TSreader and VLC ..
Crazyscan scans for transponders and locks on if sufficient signal strength...TS reader interprets the transponder contents if any found ...and VLC will display any video content found.
..and yes it is very much a 'sport'....
rgds and happy hunting.

I have no experience with Linux but it should work if you have the appropriate software versions....
I use windows
not out of choice it's what I know.

sorry got popups ,explaining why double message. Thanks for giving me this view.
So for a few hundred £ and some work,I ll get a much more sensitive reception of sat TPS and thez streams, but not HEVC...
1 example, the Albanian mux is too weak for my XComag fta receiver. With the TBS card ,they ll come in clear... and some others like the African beam on 2.9East? and the streams from Italy on 5W/9E?

Obviously I can't know what satellites and transponders can be obtained at your location ...but the TBS cards are sensitive to lower signal strengths and function at lower SR.

so...i need. the TBS6983 card? Connected to my computer... and the dish via cable to an FTA receiver? or a Linux one?
Using TBS PCIe-card? Connect dish to card > watch on PC-screen (VLC, Potplayer, Mpv, etc...).
Using receiver? Connect dish to receiver > watch on TV-screen.

If a signal is too weak, you rather need a larger dish.

Now I understand much better. A new field to explore .
Thank you Flippi and Vipersan for all these shiny lights!

Indeed, you can scan and lock onto the signal on these Radio Amateur TV sub-band muxes using the neumoDVB app on Linux. This also applies to the 6983 card, especially on these low symbol-rate muxes.

Flip that's a rave from the grave with that Username surfacing. Welcome back Evan. I won't have much to contribute here (actually, probably nothing) but I do tend read a lot of the posts from time to time. Good to know you're still here.

Just between us, for the last two pages we haven't been talking about the receiver paired with the smallest SR (as the title suggests), but rather about the proper setup of a prime-focus antenna.

It’s not a big deal, but it could make for a separate topic.

I agree ...and I believe Stephen was considering moving all my dish related posts to a seperate thread.
When he has time...

New thread created. Will start moving posts over in the next 48 hours , then clean up this one.

10498 H 333 on Es'hail 2 , almost 2 min to lock on Mio + 4k !

Maybe its time to invest in a receiver with Si2166D tuner ...
Have you got a cheaper receiver to advice me with this tuner ?
Something simple, essentially to dxing

My desire is to improve reception of 28E since i m oustside the coverage zone.I have seasonal variation, including a period when signal is "just" not enough... & i have 120cms,not willing to get a larger dish. Apart from this I get what I want...mostly on 75cms:astra 19 hotbird ,42E turkey etc...
