Hi, we have a Humax foxsat HD box and are experiencing problems with certain channels tho intermittently, generally when the wind is up or raining.

Today tho there is no wind or rain and still we are receiving a "No or Bad signal"

The channels we noticed there are problems with are Food Network, true movies and some of the CBS channels.

The disk and receiver were both professionally installed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The word "professional" worries me as I suspect you have a slight misalignment, probably caused by marginal alignment at installation exacerbated by inadequate mounting of the wall plate, meaning it can shift a tiny bit in poor weather. A properly installed dish for Freesat should not be affected by wind and anything but the most severe rain.

You might be advised to get the "professional" back to correct it.

One other issue (which you can check yourself) is that some of those Channels may be on frequencies that can be affected by DECT phones. Turn off any DECT base stations you have and see if that improves the situation.

Finally, can you check what software version your box is on and report back?

Foxsat HD should be 1.00.26

Foxsat HDR should be 1.00.13

The skew of the LNB is critical on those channels, as they are on near identical frequencies, but on opposing polarisation. May require a further visit from your installer.

The intermediate frequencies of the channels are around 1.6/ghz, so shouldn't be affected by DECT phones, although if you have one near the Humax, try switching it off.

I should perhaps explain why I ask about Application Software: Depending upon when your Foxsat was manufactured will govern the installed version. for the non-HDR at least, there was one version (1.00.24 IIRC) which caused issues with some Channels. Can't remember exactly what.

The point is that Humax do not continuously run On The Air Updates for each model, but tend to major on one or another. That means that your box may not have updated from an earlier version, depending upon how long it was "in stock".

No great problem, though, as new Updates are due for release imminently.

True movies is on the same tp as tiny pop and the IF freq does fall in the dect band.

Guys, I have a problem with ITV1 HD under red button. When I press the red button a "loading ITV1 HD" screen appears for a couple of seconds followed by a black screen with an information "no signal". I suspect that it has something to do with lack of H transponders in my area; however as far as I remember ITV HD was streamed from Eurobird transponder 11.428 which is obviously receivable throughout Europe. Is it still like that or it's being streamed from 2D H polarized frequency at present?
My box is BUSH HD.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

What happens if you try view it on channel 119? If this doesn't work eiter I suspect your signal isn't strong enough. Either your dish isn't big enough or it hasn't been aligned properly.

Thanks for quick answer. 119 works normally - I have ITV1 HD Granada there (10936 V), reception 24/7 - signal is strong enough, 1,8 meter prime focus is enough to receive 2D V polarized frequencies in Krakow. In that case I think it should be showing once red button is pressed.

I did a new install with Manchester's postcode but it did not help. Still able to see ITV1 HD on 119 but no signal message shows up after pressing red button on ITV1 Granada SD.
