The emersion should have it's own feed, this can be checked by looking inside only one feed - if two it's wired into the ring main which it shouldn't be. If the existing is a surface box just put a new socket next to it or if it is flush install a double box (you can also get these for plasterboard walls which are easy to fit). So when you need the socket on you turn the load switch on. It's the best way I think as you are not alterating anything.</p></blockquote><p></p>
