Do any of the SD Freesat boxes have RF modulators fitted? I want one of the cheap uns to play with but its going to be horrible to fit into my distro system if it doesnt have an rf out on it.

I would imagine that they all do, as they are not exactly cheap.

I have been playing with the Standard Grundig & Humax FREESAT,neither have UHF modulator, or loopthrough. Just IF Loopthrough and 2 x Scart.

So the latter is your solution, just ad £20 for an external modulator!!

Box quality on both is average, however the software is good.

I find that ridiculous and really short sighted, pretty typical of how the whole thing has been managed so far.

Even with the SD sat receivers, it looks like Double side band modulators are on the out. Scart is the norm now isn't Rolf.

Well it is for many, but also many people want to distribute the signal to another room. I buy the little Triax receivers for standard FTA installations, they are one of the cheapest around, but even they have a modulator. They've obviously built them to the BBC and ITV spec to keep the price down, but that doesn't seem to have worked.

I had the same problem with my DVD recorder, no UHF out.
Luckily I had an old video recorder lying around and used that as a modulator.:)
