Rotana channels on Hotbird

Looks as if the Rotana channels on Hotbird went scrambled at midnight last night....
Anyone know where they can now be found FTA... ??

iam watching dishtv in india through the conax card..
I want to know if i can get other channel witch is free to air on nss 6 on the same platform i.e on the same azimuth and elevation in dth (ku band) please help to recieve other channel on this , iam told there are other many channles available on nss which can be viewed free to air .

Im not Arabic or Middle Eastern, but I do enjoy Middle Eastern Music and dance..... (its more like real music as apposed to some of the rubbish we have here).

TV channels like Rotana could make it very popular here in the West and keeping their "Free To Air" channels going could pay off very well in sales for them.

I cannot agree more about Rotana and others remaining FTA. Like many other music channels, however, they think that there is a potentially big subscription market and hence they do not remain FTA.

There are a few other Arabic music channels out there (e.g. Nujoom and Star Academy and PMC) that are still FTA, offer a ggod variety of Arabic and ME music. It seems that those make their money out of SMS exchanges.

Can somebody tell me whether Rotana is still on FTA on hotbird, i have a lagre dish but i can not catch it on nilsat. Is there a new frequency?

Several sources including Lyngsat have now confirmed Rotana has left Hotbird...

Not sure about Nile Sat because I cant get it at the moment as my 12 year old 1.5 metre prime focus motorised dish needs setting up again, after I fitted a new jack and elevation bearings......... (Bad weather interupted completion)

Hi Abby,
I can 'see' three Rotana channels on Nilesat but my 1.1m motorised setup is not good enough to give me a signal strong enough to watch them - signal breaks on a clear day and no transponder lock on normal Welsh days.

If you click on beam at the bottom of the page a beam map comes up with reception reports underneath
