Nice catch. Never had anything from 1w except a strong data signal

Well Nelson ..solid lock for me atm 6.3db.
I might have a slight advantage in that I fitted my new lnb late last night ..it having arrived around tea time.
No proper alignment as yet ..just a straight swap ..
..It was dark by then ..
I see no life changing gain advantages ..but definately it is able to hang on to anything lockable better than the esx241.
but extemely low level signals such as Oromia on 17 East which locked after about 30 seconds ..ie needed to 'build' signal is currently no longer possible ..
However Arandu Rape @43W did lock last night ..and has been below lock for about 2 months with the ESX.
No firm conclusions yet ..but like most cband lnbs I've tested so far ..
there are +ves and -ves....but it doesn't do miracles.
A rough impression so far ..what you gain in stability ..you lose in threshold..
But as you know ..I work 'on the edge' when it comes to Cband
;)

I have to say that I certainly see an improvement with the new C band LNB - on my tiny 1.2m dish. Some signals are indeed weaker but I have lost no channels at all and gained quite a few.

fair comment CJ...
I guess this one is to be recommended for smaller dish work..but Not really seeing any life changing advantages if the signals are extreme fringe...other than stability.

hi - thanks for the info --
my curiosity got the better of me on saturday night - after captain jacks report on the new l.n.b -- and i ordered one from Satshop24DE so we will see what happens on the 1.8 offset -- paksat will be a challenge for it -- l.o.l.
i have noticed that with the C band l.n.b,s that i have - they behave differently on the 1.2 c.m. -- i.e. the best performer on the - 1.8 - the BSC421 does no better than my old Pauxis on the 1.2 c.m. ? -- but there is a marked all round difference between them on the 1.8 --
C band often throws up some odd results ?
regards -------

Wow, they are expensive on Satshop! Though it is the "wideband" version...
