Russian Channels On 40 East

There are a cluster of Russian TV channels on Express Air 40 east which for the moment are FTA and under test. 10980V, 43200, 7/8.
They are on the European beam.

I should be able to get them with my 90cm dish but can't, can anyone else receive these channels and with what size dish.

You wont get them unless your receiver does mpeg4

Just a matter of interest what receiver's would pick them up.

Would I be right if I said that the mpeg4 format is only on HD receiver's.

Humax do a top end CI model that gets them.

Don't really fancy going back to a Humax think I'll wait for Technomate to come out with their HD receiver early next year and see if that will do the job.

Mind you the channels will probably all be encrypted by then.

They seem to have changed SR now 10980.00MHz, pol.V: SR:44950

And there is 2 new channels and some channels left..

Muz TV, Vesti.

Perviy Kanal, STS have left.

But i still cannot pick these channels up on a 1.1m

Anyone else?

You should have no problem, as ong as you have the right receiver.

Standard definition content is still available on 53 East.

I have TM1500CI+ as well and just get 2 sd tv and 1 fm station on an 80cm dish in Manchester:-

TV 11097H sr 4000
AL HURRYA TV 11624V sr 3255
FM (radio) 11097H sr 4000

I was bothered that I could no longer get ESPERIA TV on this Sat -it was on 11131H sr2100 - but this is no great loss as it has now popped up on Hellassat.

I lose these stations if there is heavy cloud or rain - but they are useful "markers" for checking my system is somewhere near. If you drop across any other sd tv stations on this Sat do please give details!
