My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
They look like the satellite has been tipped on it's side, maybe some type of damage from the last big solar flare has done something to the stabilizer circuitry, or the camera pointing circuitry.

I got this about 30 ago from M2-3, looks good at my end for once. (untouched photo)

Meteor M2-3 pass 5-24d.jpg

Not getting the sideways photos you all are getting, or is that only on M2-4?

Still working on those interference bands at the bottom.

Is this something new in the new version of SatDump?? (in red) If so it's a great way to knock off the junk data as the satellite comes over the horizon and goes down.

I got my usual pass from M2-4 today 16.03 pm.This is the best image,I think that the UK is on the right.I have not had a decent pass from M2-3 recently. They have to go overhead or near on for me to get a good scan.

Just got my new filter/LNA in the mail, setting it up as I type.

It's a SAW* filter with an LNA in it, the filter is set to the 135 MHz to 145 MHz band, will see if it helps with my decoding problems.

*SAW filter, Surface-Acoustic-Wave. (for those that don't know....https://www.everythingrf.com/community/what-is-a-saw-filter)

The new versions have the ability to heal the bad data too - go into the CONFIGURE tab under NOAA APT & tick the box.

I couldnt get 1.2.0 to work - I just got a path error when I installed it - looking for a path to D: drive - which cant be right as thats the dvd drive on my machine.....

Thats badly worded isnt it - go into the box on the Meteor configs under METEOR M2-x LRPT 72k.

Well I had a good pass going on M2-3 this morning, that is until NOAA-18 showed up, it wiped out the signal from the Meteor big time.

Lost all sync with the Meteor download.

Yes N18 is a bit of a nuisance .It keeps swamping the signal from the Meteors.
Can't you get one of your mates up there to nuke it.:)

Today i checked my antenna: it turns out i had wired the antenna for LHCP instead RHCP and i used wrong measure in building the stub (i used the 433 MHz version:-doh).
Re-did the wiring and the stub and now i'm good!
This is NOAA-18 (with Meteor 3 at the same time) at noon more or less. I got nothing from M2-3 and i got this from NOAA-18:

Considering i have big trees and a Church around me i'm satisfied

As nice as it is. Am I under the impression there are no map overlays?
It's been a few years since decoding Metoer sats for me.
I have been dabbling with GOES and have the whole AWIPS package (Internet only currently).
Here's a recent good old wxtoimg copy of a NOAA APT.

You can get map overlays in the Meteor images, but you have to do post processing - they dont do it automatically atm. You can do it in satdump but need to fiddle with the post processing options. Not something Ive looked into atm.

Nice pic - NOAA18 & Met 2-3 are interfering with each other atm - give it a couple of days & they will have seperated again.

Had a nice pass on M2-4 this evening but it looks like the satellite is tipped on it's side, it looks like some of the photos you guys are posting.

Looks like the right hand side of the Planet.
