I have had many receivers of this company in the past, and never had any problems but the last experience has been a bad one for me financially.. be warned!
I ordered a Dreambox One back in late September, it arrived in good time, but was faulty in respect of the HDMI output. I opened an EBay return, which I unfortunately closed as the receiver seemed to correct itself, but went faulty a week later. I contacted SatKing to return which they accepted, so posted it off mid October. That last Tracking event is it leaving the UK. So looks lost in transit. Contacted SatKing and PayPal to try and get my money back which both have refused to do. SatKing then told me my reciver was in customs but the tracking does not reflect this. They tell me today the have received my receiver but won't refund as the serial number is not the box they sent me!! The tracking says my box is still in Transit. So they are lying and have someone else's receiver!!! So be warned with any dealings with returns them!!

If the tracking says the box is still in transit can you make a claim against the courier for loss of goods in transit?
There is normally a time allowance after which goods are classified as lost even though they are still showing in the online system as in transit.

I had a slightly similar issue recently with some top end hardware sent to Australia for a client. The items were a Novelsat NS3000 unit and an Ericsson RX8200 unit with other related accessories so had reasonable value. Online tracking indicated "Awaiting Customs Clearance" for several weeks but it turned out that the issue was an additional fee due to customs related to the declared value of the package. We were unaware of the additional payment required until raising the matter with the courier about compensation, once paid the goods were released and delivered.

MB, they have sent me photograhic proof they have a box including the packaging which is mine, but are claiming the box I sent back is not the serial number of the one they originally supplied which is total bollocks! Either they are just showing me a another box or it has got switched at the supplier. Either way, I'm stuffed. Won't ever be dealing with them again! I have a claim with Royal Mail, but I assume once their investigation concludes, and they find it has been delivered, I'll be stuffed again!

This is now with the Financial Ombudsman for the recovery of my monies from PayPal, who closed the case even before my box arrived back in Germany!

No unfortunately I didn't MB. Yes, that's what I suspect being sold a faulty box. They say they have evidence from Dream it was from another retailer, but refuse to share that evidence with me. The box was missing in transit for over a month, it could have been tampered with and swapped, anything....

Another point, if they tested it as they say, they could have answered my question as to what image was in the box, they refused to..


All I know is the receiver they sent is the one I sent back without a shadow of a doubt!!

A lesson for the future, check the serial numbers match on receipt. To be honest with them so dismissive I doubt they would believe you anyway!

I had an excellent service from SatKing when they were dealing with the Octagon distribution but that was some three years ago.

You appear to be the second that has lost money, there may be others that have not reported issues.

Yes, I had a few Octagons off them in the past, never had any issues with them before either..

Unfortunately no CJ...I opened a return with EBay then the box seemed to correct itself, so closed the return then you have no redress with EBay. SatKing would have disputed it anyway, as they are adamant that box they sent didn't come from them! PayPal closed a case I raised before the box even got back to Germany, stating my tracking was invalid, just a complete joke!..

Update...After intervention by the Ombudsman, PayPal have now agreed to refund me in full. Result!
