DAB's iffy even plonked between Pontop Pike and Burnhope transmitters (both supplying national and commercial DAB for the north east), but that's what vinyl records are for, analogue wins... :D

We used to lead the world in radio transmission the rest of the world use Dab+ with improved audio but we are stuck with Dab in MP2 & low bit rates:(,
I prefer Internet radio myself far better quality @320kbps in MP3 :) through my HiFi system than UK Dab.

London & the Home Counties.

London maybe but the home counties are a bit optimistic for London MPX3. 64K MP2/DAB could be painful on the ears as well, shouting down a drainpipe anyone? o_O

I don't "Get"...all these Mono DAB Stations..?...hardly a step forward.... Planet Rock ,Teamrock and others in Mono..?....If i lived in the Uk ...i would not be rushing out to downgrade to a DAB radio......But DAB is still advertised to be better than FM..."Get the Love with Dab" etc..........I imagine most people know or care or notice about the sound quality and mononess .......maybe thats why really all DAB radios are single speaker models......

The DAB+ in Munich..... The sound quality is good and all in stereo.............

I consider FM to be superior to DAB, mostly because FM works 99% of the time whereas DAB is about 50/50, ignoring the poor-bitrate mono content, I've yet to willingly buy a DAB radio myself, and I doubt I ever will so long as FM continues (not that I listen to the radio anyway)... :)

I've never bought one (apart from a boxed and brand new Blaupunkt Woodstock car radio from a Charity shop - 20 pounds - http://www.ukdigitalradio.com/products/details.asp?value=9 ). The ones I have acquired have usually been thrown away as seemingly non-repairable.

Dab is rubbish for music due to the imperfections of the digital compression used Dab+ is not much better as the sample rate is too limited for the full audio spectrum the only good medium for music Radio is FM or Vinyl Records some analogue tapes if made correctly are far superior to MP3.
Dab is only suitable for talk radio at the current bit rates 48 to 98 most commercial music channels are mono as well
