Sky HD EPG - where is it?

Turned my Sky+HD box (Thomson from 2007) on again the other day after a few months in the cupboard.
I notice that the Sky instructional videos shows the niceties of the new HD EPG.
The EPG on my box is nothing like that new one. Its the good old blocky blue/yellow EPG.

Is the HD EPG tied to a new box (with much newer software), or is it a thing with premium subscription?

Not sure .............. but if the Thomson has been "resting", maybe it's Firmware is out of date. I suspect that could be part of the issue.

Try holding down the backup button on the front when switching the power on to force a software download to the receiver

ok, I'll try the update trick over the weekend, and post back the results.

Update: Finally got to bring out the HD box again - forced software update as wod described, and now I have the HD EPG.
Not tried it in depth, but it does seem slightly slower than the "old" white and blue one (yes I know its in HD etc)
Looking forward to exploring if its an improvement 8)
