Agreed

1) - MANY years ago, the audio output from the very decent (Garrard 400 series) turntable in one of my mate's home Hifi (it was for the time) system would apparently "glitch" from time to time, and I spent a lot of time setting up and checking that T/T, but the problem remained. Can't remember exactly how I finally worked it out, but the cause turned out to be the un-surpressed pump control relay in the house oil-fired c/h system - every time that activated the pump, the audio "glitched".

2 - The cables do look thin, so they are likely some cheap "equivalent" to the relatively small diameter "WF65-type" twin/siamese cable often used to connect SKY (etc) LNBs to a house system because that requires much smaller holes to be drilled in the walls - thus replacement decent "full sized" Webro WF100 cables might help to cure the problem.
I'm sure I have tried bypassing these small cables and attaching direct to the lnb. There is also a signal meter in line built into the dish. The problem is the fault is not there all the time it can go for an hour or more with no problem and sometimes if you blinked you would miss it.

...I've been to a few shotgun weddings.
Hope the shotgun wasn't pointed in your direction, but ????????

PS: I said "some cheap "equivalent" to the relatively small diameter "WF65-type"" cable, but not that it actually is WF65 cable.

I'm in North Yorkshire and the skew is set at about -13 but when I've been away I have tried it at different settings

Ditto on North Yorkshire.

Thanks for the new pics - It was parallax error earlier, so forget what I suggested.

All I can think of now, as others have suggested, is interference ...... is that LNB 4G Immune?

No idea what parallax error is but thanks anyway

How much difference is there on the Sky Q signal meter when comparing signal from the fixed Sky dish and the Maxview?

The LNB looks like the Inverto wideband LNB, which does claim 4G protection.

Looking back to @nsp24's first post, and then through the rest of the posts here, I'm sort-of wondering if there is something else in his local neighbourhood (other than 4G) which is causing interference spikes that get into his receiver????

On that point, in the very early days of UK SKY Digital (late 1998), I had a lot of problems with interference breaking through to that very first SKY Digital box from other stuff in the AV rack - then fixed by replacing all the RF cables in that rack with double-screened "sat cable" (WF100 not available at that time).

Thus, since (IIRC) the sat box works OK in his house - which, presumably does have double-screened RF/sat cables(?) - then one might again suspect the cables supplied with that MAXVIEW dish and used in the motorhome installation, and thus replace them.

That cable looks thinner even than WF65 and probably susceptible to noise induction, I would swap it out for either genuine copper core and braid WF65, or two lengths of WF100.

home signal is 90 signal and 90 quality usually on my drive I can get 70 90. the lnb came from Maxview as an upgrade for sky Q and I have just found the box and it is an inverto which is annoying as its £10 cheaper than what Maxview charged

The Maxview system has a signal meter built in which is really handy but the internal wires are very thin I talked to Maxview and they said they should not cause this problem. I also bought the official maxview 10mtr blue cable and its the only thing I have not removed from my setup, I do have a 15mtr shotgun cable which is the slightly narrower diameter which I could try.

What I dont understand is there are no posts any ware with people having problems with these dishes, I used to have another dish for sky hd but never used this dish with it. Also I have had the 10mtr cable directly to the lnb bypassing the finer cable and meter and still had the interference.

I am going to see if I can get a signal from my garden and plug to the home system the I can try different options to sort it.

I have always suspected the lnb but Maxview sent me a new one after testing the first one and saying they could not find the fault,

does anyone on here have experience with the inverto wideband is there anther one I could try that might be better?

Try the shotgun cable. Other 40mm wideband LNB I've seen with a 10.41 LO is the GT Sat GT-WB1. Else buy a Sky Zone 2 dish with a Sky LNB. But I still believe the cable will be the main issue, if it is damaged or kinked it is more liable to interference.

Agreed. My cheapo Satfinder came with a short, thin cable stub and it did not make solid, reliable, contact when connected up - flimsy centre core.

Making my own fly-lead with mainstream coax solved the problem.

Going to try the shotgun cable next week they are all fed up of me taking the q box to the caravan lol

I read through all (I think) of those reviews, and the only thing about those cables that seemed relevant was a comment that the push-on connectors on them seemed quite poor/ill-fitting, and thus likely to be "leaky" - if true (as seems likely) then these Vision push-on ones are a whole lot better and more reliable than any others that I have come across.

Mine does not have the push fit connectors but I was thinking of getting some for the internal conection at least. I also have read the reviews but the only problem seems to be with missing parts on delivery.

Probably a result of your second reflector requirement.

Well I have totally re wired the dish with the thicker cable, the signal is now the same as the fixed dish 90 strength and 90 quality but unfortunately the picture breakup is still there. I have tried the shotgun cable instead of the blue maxview cable and still the same. The only thing I have not replaced since buying this dish is the tripod and the built in sat finder. I still think its the lnb but I have spent to much so much I'm reluctant to spend anymore and think I'm going to have to just live with it.

Thanks for all the suggestions to try and sort this.
