I`ve got 2 sky boxes, sometimes when its rains .I lose my picture completely.i went up on the roof, where the cable goes into the lnb,it looks like the connectoe(plastic cover is all wet ,what is it called)
Also when i go to set the signal strength is at 3 quarters but the signal quality is at a 1\4.
In your oponion is this all tied in.

You could have water down your down lead coax cable that goes to your sky box. Sounds like you could do with some new RG6 double screened cable. Your LNB should be ok, but check it over.

Thats my opinion anyway!

You could try disconnecting the other end of the cable and if water comes out then you will have to replace the cable. I know someone who has had this happen.

Once replaced get hold of some waterproof (amalgam?) tape must be for satellite use.

If the LNB is wet you could bring it indoors and let it dry (slowly) for a couple of days or buy one at Lidl for £3.99 (available this week if you hurry).

Once dry refit and if you want to recable and the cable follows a complex path the easiest way to do this is strip back both old and new cable to the centre copper core. Twist them together (make each into a hook and lock them. Tape them together well and then just pull the new cable through slowly using the old cable. once in position cut off the used bit and fit the F connector as usual.

Hope this helps.
