Hi all,

I was wondering has anyone managed to get the above combo working. Its the only card I am aware of that has a seperate 5v connector on board the card. The software version that comes with the card is a stripped down version of DVB Viewer which has diseqc disabled. Its not very setup friendly either.

Hi Pete, I'm using an SS2 and ProgDVB, I've got SS2DiSEqC 1.10 by MiBi as a plugin and it works flawlessly. Setup was nothing more than copying SS2DiSEqC.exe and SS2DiSEqC.dll to the progdvd directory. Run progdvb and configure it from the plugins drop down. No extra cables or power connectors required, it turns my 2100A motor no problem.

I havent tried getting it all linked up to the PC yet but it has enough power to move it using the manual button on the motor.

Aceb did you connect a molex plug from your power supply in the PC to the molex connector on your card. There would be a fairly large power draw from the card itself and I think that why they included the socket on the card itself.

If aceb has only the Skystar 2 (not the HD2 card) then he won't have the Molex connector.

Yes agreed.Mine is the SS HD card.Didn't realise the standard card didn't have this connector.Anyone know the reason for this difference.I wouldn't fancy driving a diseqc motor from the standard 5v power rail. The power draw is quite heavy.

Yes, it's an old SS2 card (non HD) and it's been in and out of PCs and different mobo's for years now. The only common bit of equipment would be large over spec'd (and silent) PC PSUs so don't know if that makes a difference? Not sure about the 5V business tbh, the motor speed seems governed by which polarity I'm in and I can switch to high speed turning by changing from 13v to 18v on SS2DiSEqC.
