Can anyone tell me the difference between SoftCam and Mr_Key files?:confused
I have downloaded both via DreamLoader to my StarSat 150D+ but screen remains black.
Do I have to download them in a certain order or do I need to edit the files?
Any other way to unscramble?

My Star Sat 150 D plus is:
HW: 7.0
SW: 12.83
Model: E124

Many thanks in advance!

PS: Can anyone also explain whether there is a difference between the file SoftCam file extensions ".key" ".txt" ".bin" ".hex"? Whichever file I download onto my 150 D+, my screen says download successful... but, as mentioned before, screen remains black:mad:
Also, do I need to delete keys stored on my receiver before I download new keys?

Again,
Many thanks for your help!!!:)

Don't know what format your box requires, or what channel is black that you expect to be open, but you can browse all of those files on your PC with something like Wordpad and take a look at the format yourself.

Some of those files are certainly not plain text format, so it might be a little hard on the eye.

Many thanks for your response, BGonaSTICK!

I am trying to open in particular movie, news and docu channels on Hotbird.

I have had a look at the various key files and wonder whether I could simply compile my own keys file, using the various strings that are included in the different files posted?

Can I simply copy and paste the relevant lines, e.g. from softcam files available on satkey.ch?

Do I need to paste them in a particular order?

Do I need to adhere to a certain format (e.g. V (Viaccess) ###### (Ident) ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## ## (key))?

Can I simply add one string after the next?

Also, I am still not sure about the difference between so called "Mr Key" and "Simple" key files, as well as whether I need to use a particular file format/ending (eg: .bin, .txt, .key, .hex) so that the STB can read the keys?

In addition, can anyone tell me whether it is possible to download (or is it "upload"?) satcodx information to the STB (here: Star Sat SR-X 150 D plus), and if so how? The standard settings for transponder lists do no seem to be update on my STB (despite latest SW 12.83?) and entering all the necessary info by hand would be a rather hideous exercise.

Apologies for so many questions, but I am new to this subject matter. If anyone knows of a particularly good "manual" regarding this on the web, could you post the link?
Many thanks again!
