Software for STS-MB.02A-L0

Hi guys,

I have received a Globo Silver Line 1005 C (same hardware as the 2005, btw) this monday and apparently it is a rebadged Coship. The boot program comes from the Coship 5300, but information found on the web says it could as well be a 2300 E. The current software version is S02A-2.96R-0126-B12.

I have been looking for a more recent version of the software for 2 days now, and can't find anything anywhere (the model is not even shown on globo's site ). I would also like to try an alternate firmware, but up to now I didn't see any B12 image for Coship receivers.

Any ideas or pointers?

It is also the same hardware platform as the DSR 5003 plus, just with a different boot program. So, this might be a dumb question... is it possible to change the boot program? Easily, of course

Problem solved!

After a succesful upgrade, the box now is running S02A-2.99R-B39.02 and claims to be a Metabox II. :-beer

In case anyone wants the procedure, here it is (the order is very important, don't edit the bin file before loading it in the upgrade tool):

on Kiev, find the Upgrade!!!.rar file from Nov 05
Connect the rx and the pc with a null modem cable
shut down the rx
unrar the archive
launch C5180Upgrade
load Signatur+Metabox2.bin
launch hex-editor and load the Signatur+Metabox2.bin file
3rd line, change 001F8000 to 00200000
save the file
in C5180Upgrade, click connect
switch the rx on
once the upgrade is done, switch the rx off and back on

If your remote control isn't working, you need to break 3 tracks on it as shown here.

Once it is working, pressing 8855 in the menu will add a menu entry.

I am sorry you have had to sort it yourself as it were, unfortunately there is far too much rebadging and cloning going on and it is impossible to know what is what these days... anyhow glad you are sorted

There is also a new pack containing everything needed (instructions, firmwares, tools, editors) available on croteam.
If you look under "OTHERS RECEIVERS / G / GLOBO", you'll find globosilverline2005-DOK-290106.exe which contains everything.

I also purchased a 1005C because it claimed to have PAL/NTSC converting capability. According the the product specs it outputs both PAL-25 and NTSC-30. However, the option for "TV Type" where it seems I would choose PAL or NTSC is greyed out and it only outputs PAL. Does anyone know if a software change can allow me to change the Video Type? I really don't want to have to buy a seperate PAL-NTSC converter. Thanks!

i succed the first time to modify the globo.
i try to put with uptool the new metabox2 software and now the receiver indicates BOOT at the startup and nothing else after!!! no software inside!!
i try with to reflah it but no connections EVILEYES!!!

CAN I DO SOMETHING???:-bash
