I'm fairly shocked myself that broadcasters dont seem to be interested in showing pre-season friendlies, does anyone know why this is?

You would have thought Channel five or someone smaller would have seen the opportunity to show some footie on the cheap, and while Sky Sports aren't showing any as well.

yep, live on MUTV, although the Celtic game is on five, and the Amsterdam tournament is on Sky. Bergkamp's testimony (Gunners v Ajax) on Saturday is on five, and all Chelsea's games are on Chelsea TV.

I know Arsenal's other games are on Arsenal TV online. In my mind though, If I control a smaller channel, I'd get Peter Drury (his freelance), and some ex-pros, and get as many as possible games a pos on the cheap and dont go overboard on production, surely you could get some audience and a nice sponsor???

Also, have you noticed that Newcastle 2nd leg Intertoto game is on Setanta, but they wont do it for one game, you have to enter a 12month contract... thats just crazy, SPL fans will not be interested.

:-doh! Tell you what, think I'll stop looking for the game as it's bloody finished!!!!
What time of kick off is that midweek??? At least Defoe got a couple to mend that Sven Boring Eriksson farce in the WC. Oh and yes, surprise suprise the legions of far east, american and scandinavian Man U fans can be treated to some of 'their' friendlies.

Not bitter of course
Ooop the lilywhites:-doh! O-Ha

Channel 5 eh? the simple fans saviour....just like John Barnes, when it comes to it they are about as tenacious and believable as "a tin of baked beans negiotiating their way out of a cow's digestive system"

Half baked! like their poxy coverage, and all these big statements............

Ah well.

We have to be realistic, ITV, BBC, or Sky (apart from the Amsterdam tournament) just arent interested in friendlies. And what else do Channel five actually show, A-Team reruns? 50 Ugliest People Ever Born?

maybe ...just maybe channels are thinking (god forgive) overkill...

we've just seen (in my oppinion) the most medeoca world cup couple with quite a few oscar nominations

maybe we should leave people to their bbq's during this lovely wheather where by they actually eat, drink and be sociable

just a thought:)

John Barnes, he's a star presenter isn't he?
I agree with Sir Bronking, let's leave the footy 'til all this hot weather has gone!
