Star Track 2100 CE Technical information request

Hi. I am new to the world of Digital Satellite receivers but I have considerable experience with computers and loggers.

I have just updated the software on my Star Track 2100CE receiver. The manual is not the best (if anyone knows of a technical manual I would love to get my hands on a copy)

Anyway since my upgrade my receiver works but the channel freezes and switches to a black screen with a blue message bar "Software upgrade" Whats going on behind the scenes here?

Having updated the software should I re-run the channel scan and what happens if I update the Keys to the default. Does the software upgrade update my default key list.

Again I wish I had more information to describe the technical processes and functions of each.
