Yes, exactly. It's the same thing more or less when I talk about of Thor 0.8°W with its nordic beam. Here in Rome that beam isn't reachable (I would need a 180/200cm dish), but in very sporadic times when the sky is completely clean and cold weather I can get a very very low signal from that beam (from Rome). There are many factors like troposphere, waves attenuation, atmosphere and of course clouds ! The same thing happens to me with Astra 28.2°East with the UK beam, here impossible to get it (footprint more concentrated).

Hi, useful info, looking at sky news @ 0.8w is 100%, im getting 85 - 87%, do i need to try and peak it more? Currently just installing the dish. cheers.

As this is my 1st time doing my own install I'm not sure what my best peak signal is yet. I'm using CM 1.2 with Rochdale location. It was only at 57% before I started tweaking so maybe I've found my max.
 
85% - 88% is fine, providing the signal levels, on other satellites are correct.

My dish needs tweaking, as I haven't done it for a few years, but I'll wait for a good summer.

When setting up your dish, as you're using a 36v motor, it's important to get your correct Longitude, as this is your True South, your Longitude should be a little over -2, negative Longitude readings = West, therefore you should set everything to 0, dish/motor/LNB, the use your receiver, or V-Box II, to nudge your dish about 1.4 degrees East, befor aligning on 0.8W, so that 0, on your motor, then points at your Longitude position.
But as your so close, to 0.8W, this is just to tweak your setup, to maximise the signal.

You can use Dishpointer, to get an accurate reading, enter your Postcode, select 0.8W, from the drop down satellite box, then zoom in on the map, moving the green icon, until you have located your house, and where you have the dish installed.

You have a good satellite dish, and a good receiver, which you can make a lot more use of, especially if you have a HDD installed, and mounted, to record programs, and make the most of Kodi.
 
I am actually following yours and others advice from Here . I actually sent the motor 1.8 degrees east which was 20 clicks, my figure is -2.21, should i go back 4 clicks or will that not make much difference? Ive not tested other sats yet as im waiting for some motor cable to arrive. Im using a vbox at the dish with my meter.
 
Leave it as it is, now send it to your furthese East, and furthest West, satellites, probably 42E to 30W, depending on Trees, or anything else that can block your signal, and post the signal quality readings, of the strongest transponders, in william-1's list.

If they are good you can scan in other satellites, I recommend 39E, 28.2E, 23.5E, 19.2E, 16E, 13E, 0.8W, 5W, 7W, and 30W, to start with.
 
Will do bud, my cable just arrived so i can crack on with it, ive moved the dish via the vbox another 15 clicks east and i get 89-90% now on sky news, i think my mount needs moving east by 1.3 degrees as it might be slightly off true south.

Which image are you using?
Most have a dish positioner option, in the setup, tuners and scanning, Positioner setup menu, which allows very fine movements, east/west, using the yellow and green buttons, at least in openBh, and probably OpenVix, as they are very similar.
