I have some questions which are probably very easy to answer. To try to keep a long story short... I have a satellite/receiver picking up a foreign based package (paid for yearly in the foreign country). This is now an old receiver (about 8 years old) from abroad that came with the original 'installation'. (registered abroad - bought it back the the UK - family abroad so able to do this) My questions are with the receiver. I want to upgrade it as the foreign provider rolled out HD services a while back. For getting a new HD receiver I could ask family to buy one abroad (an 'official' one) and then send it to me. However, I would prefer to buy over here as looking around it's the same kind of price and a lot less hassle. So eventually my questions (sorry.. I am not technically savvy with this. 8 years of the receiver sitting under the telly!).. Is it as easy as that? I can just swap receivers? Take the card out of old one and put it into new one and it will still work? There is no kind of registration needed to make the actual receiver work? I can easily get the upgrade in the package to HD as my family would just contact the satellite provider and increase the package to HD... so it's just the receiver I am worried about. I don't want to buy a new one and then it not working. Apologies for my complete ignorance. Badger
