TürkmenÄlem/MonacoSat @ 52°E transponder update

The MENA beam should be easily available in Tehran with a suitable sized dish. Looking at the maps the signal strength should be around 42dBW suggesting a 1.2m dish.

HOWEVER we do know the Mad Mullahs have had a policy of confiscating & destroying satellite dishes in recent years and a quick google suggests its been happening again in recent weeks. SO its anyones guess as to how many people have access. Certainly no westerners are going to get in & have a look any time soon.

Good news for TurkmenAlam fans!

BBC Persian HD, BBC Afghan, and BBC Radio – can now be received via transponder 11221 V 27500 from the TurkmenAlam satellite.

According to reports that I have received, 6 new transponders on the TurkmenAlam satellite will be activated in the next few hours!

The new transponders, which will be available over the TurkmenAlam satellite in the coming hours, will be receivable throughout Iran, from south to north, from west to east, and even in the Middle East and Europe.

Subsequently, the current transponders will gradually also be added to this new coverage!

It is important to know that there will be no more 'Yahsat' and that all Yahsat channels, we repeat, all Yahsat channels will gradually be transferred to TurkmenAlam

A satellite, TurkmenAlam, with the second name Monaco, will be the perfect place for Persian-language networks and will be available throughout Iran, in the Middle East, and in a large part of Europe.

WNS remains the exclusive service provider on this satellite and will deliver services for Persian-language networks.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the transponders!

The first transponders are now announced:

These transponders are not yet activated and will be activated in the coming hours:

10720 V 27500,
11382 H 27500,

It is important to know that the transponder 11420 V 27500 will also be transmitted to the new coverage area.

These frequencies are new and not yet activated; we will inform you as soon as they are activated.

It remains to be seen what will come of it, but I will keep you updated.

new:

The most-watched Persian-language Christian television channel has launched on the Turkmena'alem satellite!

A few minutes ago, the long-established channel Sat 7 Pars, or "Sat Seven Pars," a Christian television channel for Persian speakers, went live on the Turkmena'alem satellite.

This channel began broadcasting years ago via the Hotbird satellite and switched to this satellite when all channels moved to Yahsat. Now, after the widespread transponder blockade on the Yahsat satellite, Sat 7 Pars has joined the unique WNS service on the Turkmena'alem satellite.

SAT-7 Pars
11.420 V 27,500

Satfeeds-DX reports the following:

New transponder launched at 11420 Horizontal 27500 with 8 channels

Also 11382 H 27500 was launched with the same channels. Only Simaye Azadi HD is missing in this package.

The BBC Persian channel goes on air via the TurkmenAlam satellite

Unfortunately, the broadcast quality is SD and there is no news about an HD version!

BBC News Persian
10762 V 27500

Three new transponders of the Turkmen-Alam satellite were put into operation, making all Persian-language news channels available via these transponders:

Iran International HD
Iran International SD
Iran National Revolution HD
Radio Farda
VOA Persian HD
Simaye Azadi HD
Manoto HD

11.382 H 2.7500
114.20 H 2.7500
10.720 V 27.500

Some notes:

1. The reason why the BBC broadcast in SD quality was the urgency to be available for all viewers during the war. The BBC may also broadcast in HD quality.

2. Given the urgency to put these transponders into operation, the transponders are currently in use and will be available throughout Iran in the coming days.

3. None of the current Turkmenaalem transponders is shut down, but new transponders have been put into operation due to the war situation and disruptions.

Do you think they can expand the coverage map/footprints or launch any new beams?

By selecting FEC and DVB, they can relatively change the coverage area, but not the coverage shape if this is not possible with electronic settings as with new satellites.

How do you know they are mad?

They might be convinced their programmes are better than the BBC.
Sadly, these days that is not a very high bar.
:-rofl2

Most dishes look to be 80 / 90 / 100cm so 42dBW might turn out to be a problem!

But I'm not going there to find out...

Beware that BBC Persian used to be a real TV channel with programmes like Top Gear, music performances and films.

Now it is rolling news with boring 'talking heads'. Now it is probably as useful as a chocolate teapot and a waste of our licence fee money.

BBC Afghan is supposed to have educational programmes for children, which is good, but don't be surprised if it ends up being more boring rolling news.

Announcement about changes in the broadcasting of Persiana channel groups

The satellite transmission of the channels 4turk and Persiana Teen will be discontinued until further notice.

In this context, the channel Persiana Sport 1 HD will be launched today on transponder 10804 H.

Due to disturbances on the Persiana Sport 1 channel, the HD version of this channel will be placed on the Persiana media group transponder to provide viewers with a more stable and higher-quality access.

In addition, the SD and HD versions of the Persiana Sport 1 channel will now be available simultaneously and side by side on transponder 10804 H.

The Persiana media group has made these changes to improve reception quality and the stability of broadcasting for viewers.

Here are the transponders currently active at 52.0E in my area.
On March 1, I have two on Horizontal that I haven't seen since then.

The newish 11420Hlooks like its on the east beam from the signal strength Im seeing here

Some transponders from east beam are so high today !
Moving from East beam to Middle East beam ? or just a rise in the signal

They have adjusted the eastern beam a little, so now all of Iran falls under it.

they write:

The signal strength of the transponders of TurkmenÄlem MonacoSat is unique after last night's change and can be received with exceptional strength throughout Iran, from north to south, from east to west, as well as in the neighboring countries and a large part of Europe.

@Analoguesat : Has the reception of these transponders changed at your place now too?
