Technosat TC 320 Woes..

Hi All
I am a novice to this site and problem so please excuse my lack of knowledge.
I would like help on my TC 320 receiver.
I dont know the current version of the software and the bar code says
TC 32020080224017495

Can anyone help me to know whether
1)its needed to upgrade to the latest firmware and
2)what all features would I be able to get after a new firmware installation?
3)How can I go ahead with it.I have a laptop and I can buy the RS 232 cable.
4)Will I get new satellite and channels added?
5)How can I tune in the right way to get the optimum channels that my building provider gives..I stay in Dubai and I am told I should either tune into Hotbird,Badr or Nilesat as I plug into the wall socket for the Satellite channel.

I have tuned in the following way in my menu section to get the channels on Hotbird,Badr and Nilesat
Clicking on Menu>Installation>autoscan>Satellite name(
BAdr eg)>Scan Mode(Free +CA)>Scan Type(Detailed Search)>Polarity (Auto)and rest default values for LNB freq L and H,22k tone DisEqc --Off and I press OK

Is this the right way?
Will be of immense help if someone can help me in this matter.
