Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

Quite easily, they encrypt them and you require a decoder to view the channels.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

That's how On/ITV DIgital Used to and TopUpTV currently work, it's not that different to how we get pay TV via satellite, it's just the transmission technique's different... :)

Hmm..i know about TopUp TV. Setanta Sports and Freeview are all related to terrestrial TV..but if u could plz help me out with the technical stuff..(i need it for my project work!)..may some place whr i could figure that out from..

No idea about the US, but probably a little earlier, early 40s.
