Best Satellite Receivers for Feed Hunting an update thanks for Captain Jacks contribution:) The top 6 are the best for Feed Hunting as they do not overwrite found low symbol rate (SCPC = Single Channel Per Carrier) transponders all have a range of 800 to 45,000 with no errors in found transponders, 1/TM5502HD CI 2/TM5302HD 3/Spiderbox HD9000 4/SpiderboxHD9900 5 & 6 are DrHD F15/F16 very good for fringe reception and are STILL the only receivers, which will show your SNR level when under lock. Thanks to Captain Jack for the feed back, These are also good for Feed Hunting but will overwrite some SCPC transponders in close proximity all have a range of 800 to 45,000 with no errors, 7/TM6900HD Super+ 8/TM6902HD T2 These are good for Feed Hunting but will overwrite some SCPC transponders in close proximity all have a range of 800 to 45,000 they also have an error when some low symbol rates are found the receiver adds a symbol rate of 45,000, 9/TM5402HD M1 10/TM5402HD M2 Best of the rest:- 11 & 12 are theTM-F3/5 & TM5402HD M3 Good Blind scan does not overwrite SCPC but has a data base error that adds more transponders than exists on a satellite 42 east,26 east,16 east are a typical example, 13/AZBox Premuim+ Good but slow blind scan with 4:2:2 capability unfortunately due to the introduction of MPEG-4 4:2:2 codec this receiver is virtually obsolete now, 14/TM1500CI Super+ not used very often now but I cannot part with it despite only able to resolve SD. I have tried a couple of Linux receivers but they are not suitable in my opinion for Feed Hunting the Blind Scans do not pick up all active transponders that the TM5502HD does.
