Not much talk on this forum about the latest and hottest topic on other satforums, the new Linux based VU+ Duo than crunches the Dreamboxes right now.

It would be nice with a section for this lovely new receiver everyone is getting right now.

Thought that was widely known by now? :)

It seems to be the closest to a DM8000 without the DM8000 price tag. Am running the PLi image for now after spending 1 day on the original VU+ image.

Some minor annoyances:

Fan is runnning constantly and although very quiet, it's not silent.
Software is still under constant development, so box locks up without anything apparent happening.

Some pluspoints

Vu+ seems to release every week a new update to the drivers, so bugs are actively worked on. PLi and other image builders follow suit in days after.
It's very quick and the picture (both HD and SD) looks reasonably smart. I have nothing to compare it against though.

All in all, it's early days for me, but so far I am happy to have spend my hard earned on it.
