Could anyone tell me if the TIVUsat smarcam works in the techomate 1500CI receiver?
This is the receiver I have and I have read on some websites that this cam works in technomates. Hence I recently bought a Tivusat smarcam since I watch a lot of Italian TV and the big Italian digital change should happen in November, so I did not want to be without.
Family members in Italy activated my smartcard but when I put the cam/card in to my technomate receiver, nothing happens. The cam does get initalised (I see the smarcam menu) but when I plug in the card, it says the card is not active. I have checked on the Tivusat website and my card is active, so I don't know what is wrong:confused Is the smarcam or card broken or is it my receiver:confused
So if anyone tell me if the TIVUsat smarcam works in the techomate 1500CI receiver, I would be very grateful.
Thanks,
damaan.

Can you be more specific about the big change?

AFAIK DTT is being rolled out Region by Region, but I've not heard any news of specific impending changes to DSAT.

I think you need to use a particular firmware, try googling it.

I think later this year channels like RAI Uno will be scrambled and only viewable via a Tivusat card.

That could well be it .............. we've been expecting it for a while, but this is the first intimation of an actual date.

I was supposed to be getting a Tivùsat box/card when we were in Puglia a few weeks ago, but failed miserably!

Certainly the digital switch in Italy starts in October. How this will effect DST I don't know. Certainly Mediaset are advertising (at c.a. midnight!) that you need a Tivusat STB in order to view their channels. What will happen is still unclear, but better safe than sorry.

OK did the following:
1. I unpluged the receiver and left it for about a minute.
2. Insert the cam in to the receiver.
3. I cleaned the gold chip on the card with a dry cloth and inserted the card with the golden chip upwards (different to the picture stated in the smarcam literature).
4. Plugged in the receiver and switched on.
5. Switched to a Tivusat channel (I used LA7) and left for about 30 secs and channel appeared. All channels working.

Hence can confirm that smarcam works in Technomate TM-1500 CI+ super Satellite Receiver. Thanks to Biscuo!

Generally too busy with Family when we were in Lazio, no opportunity whilst travelling down past your gaff (Well, about 20k east) and a somewhat rural area to stay in in Puglia where the only sensible things to do were eat, drink, sample all the ice-cream etc.

But it looks as if it's getting to the point of necessity now.

Warm? Red hot, I should say!

A beautiful day, a beautiful little village in a beautiful valley at the end of a beautiful lake.

And there was a festival on.

Thankyou for your kind offer Denis - I suspect that we will take you up on that before too long.

We are talking £200 plus over here, and that's without "activation" assistance.
