Anyone interested in trying these out before I release them. Main feature is the transponders have a proper description.
ok,will do when I have 5 mins....thanks.Thanks LP,
Can you check an S2 transponder loads right in that program please. Say 10847V. Check it lists as 8PSK.
DVB Dream plus and minus at times....................looks fine with SmartDVB.......well done, cracking job 'H'.Hmm. Shows QPSK in that grab. Maybe your program doesn't understand Transedit flags.

Alas, they don't. The modulation parameters of Transedit include Pilot and Roll Off for DVB-S2. Here you see the difference for 23.5E, 11739V.Main feature is the transponders have a proper description.
This is only partly true. The actual parameters are transmitted in the BBHEADER. The Satellite Delivery System descriptor in the NIT shows the roll-off factor but not pilot. Some older DVB-S2 cards needed a correct pilot setting. Normally it's done automatically by the demodulator.Problem is there is no complete list with pilot and roll-off included. Only way to get that info is by scanning the SI tables.
If it is not listed in the NIT and not listed in transponder lists how is anybody supposed to know the correct setting to enter in the ini file. What I did was pilot on for S2 transponders and 0.35 roll-off. Without a complete source of transponder data I can't see what else can be done. The Satellite Delivery System descriptor in the NIT shows the roll-off factor but not pilot. Some older DVB-S2 cards needed a correct pilot setting.
