Trying to send aeriel signal and satelite to four other rooms in the house via distributer, have a two way coax splitter but dont know where to put it, the only way that worked so far there was a lot of interference on the sky picture and freeview picture but this was wired this way in the past with no interference but after fitting a new coax cable from the aeriel and taking a dvd box out of the system cannot get it wired the way it used to be.Diagrame of tv, video, sat box and distributor provided, any help appreciated.

Hello

Welcome to the forum stewart

Well depending on your other equipment determines how you will achieve this, details of which will be required. However this self help forum is packed with ready made answers to most problems of houshold signal distribution the following being one of then

One thing is for sure, passive splitters will not assist you in this process there is too much signal loss, a distribution amp may do the job depending on the other equipment you have

Your setup should be:

Aerial into Sky digibox, RF2 from Sky digibox up to distribution amp (preferably with ir pass), then distribution amp to four points.

The Sky digibox if working correctly will pass UHF signals, so if you have a suitable feed from your aerial plugged into your Sky digibox aerial input, it will come out of RF2, along with the digibox channel.

Have you tested the aerial before it goes into the digibox and out of RF2 straight to the TV?

If the aerial is working with freeview before the digibox and it isn't when it comes out the other side, you have a faulty digibox.

ok have tried this and if i just plug into the tv after the skybox then you get freeview but if you go through the amplified distributor there is no freeview or sky at any of the other tvs.

Not being funny stewart but have you tried tuning the TVs IN m8.

Back of sky box !! 3 RF input/output !! 1/ top: Antenna in. 2/middle RF1 out to TV. 3/ bottom RF2 out to amplifier input. 4/ Amplifier outputs to TVs. 5/ Tune TVs DTV freeview 6/ Channel 1 analogue tune to SKY.

Get that right before looping through other STBs.

had it working with freeview in kitchen by coming out the sky box and connecting directly to the kitchen tv cable, freeview picture was ok but sky picture had a lot of interference. There is a two part signal booster so is it possible that this is upsetting the sky box by passing 12v through it?

Will it make much difference that the cable used between the aerial and sittingroom is Double Aluminium screened rather than copper as it used to be (the local tv installers said it was all they used)

No idea what that is and can't find a spec' of it on google. If by connecting direct you are getting a picture, then the amp is faulty, or you are not connecting it properly.

situation as it stands now is aerial direct to kitchen tv freeview works, through sky box without amp no freeview, through sky box with amp freeview works but interference on the sky pic.Forget the comment about not working through the amp as it wasnt wired up properly. So as i said is there a chance that the signal booster could be upsetting the sky box by sending 12v to it?

"teleste" is Labgear.

> Check line power isn't being interrupted if not mains powered.

> Also check the RF output signal of sky receiver, a double side band modulator [as used in domestic receivers] will create side bands. If beating with an off-air broadcast this can cause cross moduation ie, a distorted sky channel and/or loss of some freeview channels. This can be made worse due to amplification.
