It may seem like a crazy idea however I was wondering that just like broadband is it possible to run two dishes and two set boxes from the same cable using splitter boxes????

Thanks for your help.

Yes and no. :)

If you are talking about the Polish channels, then I believe that they are all on one band/polarity and it will work, for Sky, no it isn't possible.

Thanks Rolf, I didn't think so but was worth asking. would be an idea for Satellite companies to introduce wireless dish and box setup, I really think that the cables are very unsightly and are normally just thrown over the roof by most installers.

Problem is Marcus, that most cutomers are not prepared to pay for the amount of time that it takes to run cables through a loft, plus Sky will not allow their employess to do it. I agree with you though, they are unsightly. :)

a wireless dish would in theory be possible, BUT, it would require batteries that would drain very quickly, i cant see any customer being prepared tochange batteries on an lnb in all sorts of weather tosave the one cablefrom going over the roof.

sky wont run cables through lofts etc as their insurance doesnt cover their enginers for working in potentially dangerous cavitys, theres nothing to stop you going into the loft though while the installer pokes the cable through a hole for you to pull through ;)

there is now technology available that will allow you to run up to 4 boxes using a single output SCR lnb and splitters, only certain boxes will work with this technology at the moment though, and TBH i cant ever see sky implementing it into their recievers

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

I'm sure I recently saw a clever box thing that combined 2 feeds into one cable (and presumably at the other end a splitter is required), I'll see if I can find it in my browser's history...

Actually, at that price I think it would be easier to just split some CT63 between the 2 dishes/LNBs...
