Upgrade receiver without serial port?

hi all.
i have no laptop or desktop with serial. So i cannot use RS232 cable.
How can i use usb port to upgrade?
Or any other way?
please advice

You will have to use a usb to serial converter. This tends to be problematic as some of them just dont work properly, and they can be tricky to set up as you sometimes have to change the com port allocated to the usb port.

From his profile its a Humax 5400

As long as it is not the Z version then you could pop into the local library (or internet cafe) and ask to use a PC with serial port.

If you have a Z version then the serial port is likely to have been disconnected inside the receiver.
