Urgent advice needed

I am really interewsted in the Sony KLV26HG2 LCD TV. If I purchase from France which is £400 cheaper then the UK. Will it work in the UK?

Yes - if you check the spec it has PAL out

NTSC 3,58/4,43 (entrée vidéo) Oui
PAL Oui
SECAM Oui

Should be no problem and you won't have to pay VAT or Import duty as France is within the EU

Well its S*cam - pal multistandard,and it does Pal-i sound which is the uk standard. It covers our uhf spectrum so you will be able to use it for your terrestrial transmissions.

Don't forget also that you will have to change the plug on the elecrical cord (a minor problem!) and that if you need to make a warranty claim that you will have to go back to France with it.

I've often thought of buying a TV in France and bringing it back but the possibilty of a warranty claim has always discouraged me.
